Focus and Scope
AREMA publishes applied and empirical research across three core disciplines:
- Economics – applied micro/macroeconomics, development and regional economics, monetary and public sector economics, labor and behavioral economics, Islamic economics, international trade, and sustainability economics.
- Management – strategic management, entrepreneurship, marketing, human resources, financial management, operations and supply chain, digital business and innovation, and SMEs.
- Accounting – financial and management accounting, auditing, taxation, public sector accounting, accounting information systems, sustainability accounting, and forensic accounting.
Interdisciplinary submissions and studies grounded in emerging-market and Indonesian/ASEAN contexts are encouraged. Purely theoretical work without a clear applied contribution is outside the scope.
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review. After an initial editorial and similarity check, suitable manuscripts are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers. Based on their recommendations, the editor issues one of four decisions: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject. The typical time to first decision is 4–8 weeks.
Publication Frequency
AREMA is published twice a year (June and December). Accepted and copyedited articles are added to the current issue as soon as they are ready (continuous publication).
Open Access Policy
AREMA is a fully open-access journal following the Budapest Open Access Initiative. All articles are freely available immediately upon publication under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication.
Publication Ethics
AREMA upholds the standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors must ensure originality and proper attribution, avoid concurrent submission, and disclose conflicts of interest. Editors evaluate manuscripts fairly and confidentially, and reviewers provide objective, timely assessments.
Plagiarism Screening
Every manuscript is screened with plagiarism-detection software before review. The maximum acceptable similarity is 20%, with no single source exceeding 5% (excluding references and quotations). Confirmed misconduct is handled under COPE guidelines.
Author Fees
Submission is free. An Article Processing Charge (APC) applies only after acceptance to support open-access publication. Fee waivers may be granted for authors facing financial hardship.
